A Christian Single wrote asking me to elaborate on what is meant by “blockages that can negatively affect a person’s life”. This is an area that relates to many Christian singles.

Each of us has experienced events in our life that greatly affected us. The positive ones serve as points of encouragement - serving to drive us to reach for a better life. The negative ones, especially those that created strong emotional impact, often are “swallowed” up inside of us, buried because we are either not old enough to deal with processing them or choose to not walk through the pain or growth necessary to arrive at a healthy conclusion.

And God hears these Christian singles and answers with love. Life is an experience of seasons. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that there is an appointed time for everything. No one is bothered or prompted to question when it is a season of blessing. However, when a season seems to use the Northern Lights as a measuring stick for the length of the season (and challenge follows challenge; nothing follows nothing) it is quite a different response. And who can blame Christian singles for asking God for a break.
